Scoffers Shouldn’t Stop Us!

2 Peter 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

 In 2 Peter 3 the Apostle Peter “stirs up our minds by way of remembrance.” That means he is reminding the Believers of things they have been told before. He discusses the last days and what to expect. The first thing that he reminds us of is that scoffers SHALL come. If you chose with live godly, you WILL suffer persecution. If you are a public witness for Jesus Christ, you have been confronted with scoffers.

Scoffers are those that mock the things of God and deny the Bible. They laugh and ridicule your holiness. (Remember when Vice President Pence announced that he doesn’t go into private rooms or go out to eat with woman unless his wife is present?) Remember that they mocked the Disciples as “ignorant and unlearned fishermen…” They scoffed Jesus during his trial and while he was on the Cross.
